the UTP Book Fair 2009 has finally ended.

with a huge sigh of relief

but taking up much of our time,

it was sure worth our effort!

with the Entertainment & Games dept slipping into crazy-mode,

they announced that they had come up with 15 crazy games

with crazy prizes to be won!

with much disbelief, we scorned at them…

“where got ppl so free make until 15 games. sure or not… “

and they proudly showed us the list…

so come and see for yourself!

just drop by as you are, maybe before your differential equations

or in between your SP lab and organic chemistry class.

maybe you’d feel lucky that day?

so try your luck in any of the games and walk away with books and prizes

so here’s the deal:

game 1: Bot-ling.

where the player is asked to stand at a distance and with 2 throws, hit as many bottles as possible.

Prizes:

• 3 – 5 bottles = 5 sweets
• 6 – 8 bottles = 8 sweets
• 10 and above = 1 packet drink (told you so…)

game 2: spot the difference.

sounds easy right. it is

1.5 minutes given for the 4 pictures. spot as many differences as you can and win…

Prizes:

• 2 pictures completed = 5 sweets
• 3 pictures completed = 8 sweets
• 4 pictures completed = 1 packet drink

game 3: toss the coin

just toss a coin and win prizes!

what could go simpler?

fine. not just a simple flip of a coin would win you some stuff.

make sure the coin you tossed falls in the squares that will win you prizes!

Prizes:

• white square = 1 sweet
• yellow square = 2 sweets
• blue square = 1 choki-choki. hehe
• green colour = 2 choki-choki. hehehe
• orange colour = 1 packet drink
• red colour = a pen!

game 4: engineering skills

wrap your egg well so it does not burst when thrown from level 2 of Pocket D!

Prizes:

• 1st place = 3 packet drinks & a pen! wah…
• anyone who survives the 1st level = 3 packet drinks

game 5: match it!

match all the cards placed facing downwards. easy.

Prizes:

• less than half completed = 2 sweets
• more than half = 1 packet drink
• all completed = 1 notebook & a pen

game 6: dare to spell

spelling random words and making sentences.

that would be fun for english geeks

game 7: spell me.

game 8: figure it out.

game 9: guess more and more!

game 10: hangman.

game 11: who wrote…

game 12: be an author.

game 13: dig for treasure.

game 14: spot the not.

game 15: mind boggle.

yup. that’s the lot! curious to know what the other games are about

the BIGGER and BETTER book fair

This semester, the Book Fair of UTP is back! BIGGER and BETTER! With MORE BOOKS, MORE PEOPLE and MORE GAMES! Held on the 25 – 27^th of August, the event will commence on the grounds of Pocket D.

More publishers are invited to join us this time and a wider selection of books is also expected to be on display. Apart from that, our Entertainment and Games Department also promises new and interesting games, not to mention prizes to be carried away! Come and see for yourself!

As to date, we have received many positive feedbacks from our potential exhibitors and sponsors. Feel like catching a movie? Tanjung Golden Village (TGV) Cinemas has even agreed to sponsor 30 complimentary tickets to watch the screening of UP! As such, it is a pleasure to announce to you that the much anticipated UTP Book Fair 2009 for the July semester is right on its way. We hope to see you there!
